It’s just $1.70 per trip on the LINK – no matter how far you travel. That makes the LINK perfect for sightseeing, shopping or getting to work in Auckland city.

Shopping

The LINK buses take you to Auckland’s top retail therapy locations. Hop off the bus at Queen Street and you’ll find everything from souvenirs to fashion to bookshops to the upmarket Smith and Caughey’s department store. It’s a short stroll from Queen Street to High Street and the Chancery – home of boutiques and high fashion, including world-class local designers, such as Zambesi, Workshop, World and Karen Walker. The LINK also travels through Parnell, a charming, historic shopping village where you can find art, antiques, jewellery, gifts and stylish home furnishings. Next stop is Newmarket, known as New Zealand’s fashion capital, and home to a huge range of international and local labels along the Broadway strip and at Westfield 277. Quirky Karangahape Road offers a unique and diverse shopping experience – from high fashion to street-wear styles. Ponsonby has some of Auckland’s trendiest shopping spots, specialising in fashion, accessories, interior furnishings and kitchenware. The LINK also stops right outside Victoria Park Market where you’ll find arts and crafts, clothing, accessories and sports wear in an historic Victorian industrial building.

Restaurants, Cafes and Bars

The LINK can take you right to Auckland’s top dining and night spots. Hop off at the bottom of Queen Street and it’s a short walk to the Viaduct Harbour, home to over 20 restaurants, offering views overlooking the harbour and marina, and open from breakfast until late. In Parnell you can choose from over 45 restaurants, cafes and bars, featuring local and international cuisine. Ponsonby is another top location for eating and drinking at any time of the day or night, whether you’re looking for a cappuccino, a five star meal or a night on the town. Karagahape Road also offers an incredible variety of eating spots, including cafes, ethnic restaurants and food courts.

Attractions

Hop off the LINK at Victoria Street for SKYCITY – known as Auckland’s premiere entertainment destination. The SKY Tower offers spectacular 360 degree views of Auckland and a SkyJump option for thrill-seekers! SKYCITY Casino is open 24 hours a day offering popular casino games and live entertainment.

The LINK is also a handy way to get to popular events and entertainment venues in the city, including Vector Arena, home to a range of sporting and entertainment events, the Aotea Centre, the largest performing arts centre of its kind in New Zealand, The Civic, a restored picture theatre and Aotea Square. The Aotea Square Market is held every Friday and Saturday from 10am until 6pm featuring Pacific arts and crafts, contemporary jewellery and fashion.

The Auckland War Memorial Museum tells the story of New Zealand, its place in the Pacific and its people. It is located in the picturesque Auckland Domain, the city’s oldest park, with spectacular views over the Waitemata Harbour. Take the LINK to Parnell Road, or get off at Park Road and stroll through the Domain.

The Auckland Art Gallery has the most extensive collection of art in New Zealand, including historic and modern New Zealand art, as well as works by Pacific and European artists. The main gallery is currently closed for renovations but exhibitions are still showing at the New Gallery building on the corner of Wellesley and Lorne Streets, just a short walk from Queen Street.

The LINK also provides convenient access to the Ferry Building on the waterfront where ferries for Devonport and Waiheke Island depart regularly throughout the day.

Park and ride

The LINK is great for getting to work or travelling to meetings around town. It takes you right to the centre of town so you don’t have to worry about finding a car park or battling the traffic.

Hospital and medical

The LINK offers convenient transportation to Auckland City Hospital and Starship Children’s Health from Park Road.
